Active Anglers News Active Anglers News: 2007 SEASON POINTS CHAMPIONS

For all of the Active Angler’s members and team mates that attended the awards ceremony at Hooter’s in Taylor, thank you. For all of you who could not attend, you missed a good time. Photos are in the gallery. So let’s give a big round of applause to Hooter’s for all they have done the entire season. A special thanks to all the team mates of Active Angler’s, for their hard work and dedication. The first award given this year was second place. Earning a total of 497 points, Jeff Vizachero and Greg Glasser took second place. Big bass of the season went to Mike Trombly and Keith Mullen weighing in at 6.20 lbs and worth a total of $480 for the season. If that big bass was just .05lbs heavier it would have been enough for the P.S.B.J. and $1040. First place went to Joe Pappas and Scott Emery with a total of 507 points for the season. Mark Walker and Bad Horvath weighed in a bag limit of 2.26lbs. This takes a lot of guts to bring in such a small bag limit. Since, everyone knows that the smallest bag limit of the season wins the Dynk Champion of the year award. Congratulations Mark Walker and brad Horvath. The Winners of the Highest Placing Champion Boat purchased from Angler’s Marine is the team of Doug Arter and Butch Wasser. The next highest placing Evinrude powered boat was the team of Mike Sitko and Eric Schenavar. These guys had three first place finishes and took home a brand new BRP Renegade 4 blade propeller for the season’s effort. The very special award of the 2007 season is the Harry Thomas Ledingham Sportsman of the year award. This Special award goes to the one person who goes above and beyond the call of duty. Always there, when injured or sick, always doing what needs to get done. This award goes to our very own Murray Lucier. The door prizes were flowing thanks to Angler’s Marine, Champion Boats, Evinrude outboards, and Hooter’s. Check out the season standings to see were your friends finished. The 2007 season was absolutely amazing. The cash payouts for the season totaled $11,530.00. The additional door prizes such as 30 gallons of outboard oil $900. Twelve Teton Fishing Rods donated with a value of $1200.00. Ten Hooter hats, 10 Hooter’s shirts, 10 Hooter wing parties, Hot Hooter’s wings, awards ceremony at Hooter’s, priceless. The 2007 Points Champion awards included Lowrance Electronics, battery charger, plaques, BRP Renegade 4 blade propeller, two hand held ship to shore radios, jump start box, battery stabilizer, door prizes at the awards ceremony, $250 for the big bass of the season. The highest placing Champion boat owner who purchased their boat from Angler’s Marine earned a bounty check for $1000.00. This brings the total of cash and prizes for the 2007 season to $19,865.00 for fishing Active Angler’s tournament. To all of the anglers that fished in 2007, thank you.

Active Anglers News Active Anglers News: What an Exciting Tournament

The last tournament of the season ended with some amazing results. The top five spots were all over 20 pounds. Fifth place went to the team of Doug Arter and Butch Wasser with a weight of 20.21pounds. Fourth place was achieved by Dave Reault and Charlie Reault weighing in at 20.80 pounds. Third Place went to Tom Ledingham and Scott Bryant with a weight of 22.68 pounds. Second place went to Terry Bucciarelli and Barry Bucciarelli with a weight of 23.43 pounds. First Place with a total weight of 23.57 pounds was caught by Mike Trombly and Keith Mullen. Big bass was just as interesting to watch during weigh-in. There were several big bass brought to the scales. A total of 4 fish weighed in over 5 pounds. David Hayward and Hal Graham’s big bass weighed in at 5.32 pounds. Next up is Tom Ledingham and Scott Bryant weighing in their big bass at 5.61 pounds. The second largest bass of the day was brought to the scales by Mike Brigman and Jason Brigman weighing in at 5.86 pounds. The biggest bass of the year was caught by Mike Trombly and Keith Mullen. This fish was also the largest of the season. The big bass weighed in at an impressive 6.20 pounds. Big bass was almost enough to take the progressive super bass jackpot. The P.S.B.J. must weigh 6.25 lbs or more to take the pot. As described in the news letter the P.S.B.J. is worth $1040 to the super Bass. You must be entered that day in order to collect. The 2007 Active Angler’s Awards ceremony will be at Hooter’s in Taylor on Thursday October 25, 2007. The awards ceremony is for Active Angler’s Members and guest. Please R.S.V.P. (734) 287-6180. We will be discussing the 2008 dates and changes during the business meeting prior to the awards.

Active Anglers News Active Anglers News: July 21, 2007 Tournament News

ACTIVE ANGLER’S NEWS JULY 21, 2007 TOURNAMENT To the angler’s that fished our July 21, 2007 event, I say thank you. We at Angler’s Marine were on hand for the FLW tour event held in Detroit recently. I must say they put on a great show for the whole family. Steve Clapper who won the Chevy open, presumably on Lake Erie, did so with the utmost integrity. He is just a stand up guy and a great role model for young and experience in all walks of Life.Congratulations Steve Clapper. What a great four day bag of fish. Looking at the names who fished the FLW tour as Angler or Co-Angler for such a prestigious event is eye opening. These names are very impressive. Especially when you consider that many of them are the premier competition in the Active Angler’s Tournament trail. There are many times when as Steve Clapper said:” I have come in with my tail between my legs many times.” I for one have witnessed that myself. That is why it is called fishing not catching. The Active Angler’s tournaments are a great way to prepare the angler for the big money trail. The competition is tough for those of you that are up to the challenge. As you look at the weights you will see that first and second were separate by .06 lbs. Big bass was close as well, separated by a mere .04lbs. We at Active Angler’s are continually searching for was to keep it interesting, challenging, and rewarding for everyone. The member’s that continually support Active Angler’s have special pots like the P.S.B.J. and the season ending Points Championship, photos opportunities with the Hooter’s Girls, and newly added awards ceremony at Hooter’s in Taylor. Everyone has access to www.activeanglers.net for great information, photos, weather, forums, calendar of events, and we as always seek your input for bringing you a better event.

Active Anglers News Active Anglers News: JUNE 2nd 2007 RECAP

TOURNAMENT RESUTLS FOR JUNE 2, 2007 First place was won by Mike Sitko and Eric Schenavar with a total weight of 19.94 lbs. Very impressive for the early June tournament. This makes them contenders for the 2007 Points Championship with 105 points. Last years Points Champions Steve Cooke and Bob Hernandez are not far behind with 102 points. Big Bass was also in the bag for Mike Sitko and Eric Schenavar with their biggest bass weighing in at 5.19lbs. This is the weight to beat for the big bass of the season. My favorite award is the Dynk Champion . As you know this award is for fun. Active Angler’s staffs very own Danny Bloxsom and Murray Lucier. Watch out for these guys. The Progressive Super Bass Jackpot starting value is $690. Every P.S.B.J. entry for July 21, 2007 raises the value of the pot for the day. The P.S.B.J. must weigh 6.25lbs or larger to collect the whole pot. If you do not enter for the day you cannot win. The biggest bass of the 2007 Season will be awarded a $250 check. The P.S.B.J. winner is exempt from this award. You must fish all five events and be entered in the P.S.B.J. to collect

Active Anglers News Active Anglers News: UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE

The June 2, 2007 tournament season opener is Michigan waters of Lake Erie only. It is your responsibility to know the legal boundaries for fishing this first tournament. A chart will be available for your viewing at registration. The Federal Government has changed the rules concerning V.H.S. (viral hemorgatic syndrome) again. Which means the fishing boundaries for the remainder of the season have also changed. Remember membership is $30 per person. 2 for $50 or 3 for $70 if purchased before June 1, 2007. It will be another great season of fishing.

Active Anglers News 2007 LEGAL FISHING WATERS

Hello Active Angler’s Members! It is going to be another very interesting tournament season. With the tradition of our first tournament of the 2007 season on June 2. The legal fishing boundaries of Lake Erie are Michigan waters only. It is your responsibility to know the legal boundaries for this tournament. The remainder of the season will be Michigan waters only of Lake St. Clair, Detroit River, Lake Erie, and the connecting waterways. This small change is a result of the Federal Government trying to control the spread of V. H. S. (viral hemorrhaging syndrome). The Active Angler’s tournament trail has always been a catch and release tournament. So in order to comply with the Federal Order, all Canadian and Ohio waters will be considered off limits. When the Federal Government of the United States of America changes this order we will also change. So any tournament anglers caught fishing Canadian Waters or Ohio waters during Tournament hours will be disqualified and subject to suspension from fishing Active Angler’s Tournaments for the season. The names of the violators will be posted on the web site www.activeanglers.net . No refunds will be given, No exceptions. Remember team Membership is discounted until June 1, 2007 two for $50, three for $70. After June 1, 2007 membership is $30 per person. I believe this season will bring out more anglers making this a very competitive year of fishing. As always we at Active Angler’s thank you for your participation.
